and produced domestically and overseas.

It has the function of stocking and delivering, and constitutes a supply chain as a collection
and distribution point.

船場地域にルーツを持つか又は事業拠点を置き、国内外で企画生産した繊維関連商品を
ストック＆デリバリーする機能を有しその集散地としてサプライチェーンを構成しています。

History of the textile town
“Senba” Senba began in 1583 during the late Sengoku period. Along with the construction of Osaka Castle, Toyotomi Hideyoshi relocated merchants from Sakai and other areas to develop the castle town in order to purchase arms and daily necessities for his vassals. This 40-ken (approximately 80 km) town later became Senba.

繊維の街「船場」の歴史
船場のはじまりは、戦国時代後期の1583年。大坂城の建築に伴い、豊臣秀吉が家臣の武具や生活必需品を購入するため、堺などの商人（あきんど）を移住させて城下町を整備しました。この40間（約80㎢）の町がのちの船場となっていきます。

Osaka had a flourishing textile industry during the Meiji period, with the establishment of Japan's first spinning factory, and eventually cotton spinning became Japan's core industry, and Osaka became a large industrial city known as the ``Manchester of the East'' as a pioneer of Japan's industrial revolution. In conjunction with this, Senba prospered as a textile distribution center, and major trading companies that continue to exist today, such as the textile import/export company ``Kansai Gomen'' and the yarn merchant ``Senba Hachisha'', were born one after another, leading to the ``Great Osaka period.'' After that, Senba became a town with a variety of businesses, mainly textile wholesalers, as well as banks and department stores.

大阪は、明治時代に日本初の紡績工場の設置など繊維産業が盛んで、やがて綿紡績業は日本の基幹産業となり、日本版産業革命の先駆けとして「東洋のマンチェスター」と呼ばれる大工業都市に変貌していきました。それと連携して、船場は繊維の集散地として栄え、繊維輸出入業の「関西五綿」、糸商の「船場八社」など現在にも続く大手商社が続々と誕生し「大大阪時代」と呼ばれる大正時代から昭和初期にかけての経済の発展を牽引しました。その後も船場には繊維問屋を中心とするさまざまな企業が立ち並び、銀行や百貨店も軒を連ねる街となりました。
